The Johnson County Brewing Society (JoCo BS or JCBS) has been established for homebrewers in and around Johnson County, KS to gather with other local homebrewers for educational and social opportunities that promote the hobby of homebrewing. JoCo BS is registered in KS as a not-for-profit corporation. We are recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
We are a registered club with the American Homebrewers Association. If you’re not yet an AHA member you can support JoCoBS by registering through our referral link by clicking here.
The initial club meeting was held on May 22, 2014–about a month after KS law was amended to expand homebrewer rights. On Feb. 5, 2015 the club filed with the state of Kansas as a not-for-profit corporation. The first Board of Directors was elected on Feb 26, 2015. The board approved the club bylaws on Mar. 6, 2015. The monthly meeting was held at Brew Lab in Overland Park through Jan. 24, 2019. Starting in February 2019 monthly meetings were moved to Limitless Brewing in Lenexa to accommodate membership growth.
